We connect traditional artisans in Afghanistan with modern consumers in economically developed countries.

In Afghanistan, the artisan sector is the second-largest after agriculture. Yet, many highly skilled traditional artisans lack access to (international) markets, visibility, and the financial resources needed to sustain their livelihoods.

At the same time, consumers in developed economies are increasingly fatigued by mass-produced goods — products that often lack soul, burden the environment, and are made unethically. Traditional artisans offer an alternative: unique, ethically made, environmentally sustainable, and high-quality goods, each with a story and identity that people can emotionally connect with.

OMID Aid is the bridge between these two worlds: we believe in the power of community and the value of ancestral traditions. Our goal is to connect conscious consumers around the world with the rich, time-honored knowledge and unique craftsmanship of Afghan artisans.

With an established local presence and strong relationships within these communities, OMID Aid is passionate about preserving traditional knowledge while connecting the modern world to our shared ancestral roots.

Our mission? Through our social enterprise, we strengthen local capacity, support infrastructure in the most vulnerable regions, and create a platform that celebrates craftsmanship in Afghanistan.
